Practicing Encounters with Horses — The WilloW Edition

ソウル、釜山、済州島での短期的なフィールドリサーチをもとに、ソウルのThe WilloWで開催された展覧会 Patch Work! のために制作された作品である。写真や身体的なジェスチャー、またグラウンドワークやホースセラピーに着想を得た瞑想的なセッションを通して、女性と在来馬のあいだにかつて存在した親縁性をたどり、種や歴史の境界を越えて「ともに呼吸する」ための方法を探った。

Developed from short-term field research in Seoul, Busan, and Jeju Island, this work was first presented in the exhibition Patch Work! at The WilloW in Seoul. Through photographs, bodily gestures, and meditative sessions inspired by groundwork and horse therapy, Sato explored the kinship once shared between women and native horses, and searched for ways to “breathe together” beyond the boundaries of species and history.
